CCS Uploader Program

CCS Uploader is our image FTP/Upload program that allows you to upload your images to Candid Color Systems.

You can install the uploader tool on your computer to quickly and easily add images to your events in CORE.


PC/Windows Users - Setup


  • Open the program (PC/Windows Users) (Scroll down for MAC)
    • Select the Local tab and enter these settings
    • Select Account Settings tab
      • Under active services only check CORE
      • Enter your CORE address
      • Enter your CORE user name
      • Enter your CORE password
    • Select the Image Upload tab
      • Enter the following settings
    • Select the Advanced tab
      • Enter the following settings
    • Market Settings are preset, no need to make changes there.
    • Click OK to save settings
    • When the popup appears check "don't show again" and OK


      UPLOADING IMAGES (PC/Windows)

    • Once you have CCS Uploader opened confirm you are in the event you intend to upload images to
      • Select Advanced Mode
        • On the left you can choose to follow options
          • Create a new folder with each new set of images loaded
          • Auto rename folders numerically (folders will start with 00001)
          • Auto rename images numerically (images will start with 0001)
          • Create new folder after 100 images (if this is a Race, you will want to check this option)
        • Photographer
          • You may assign a photographer to the images they shot, this allows you to run photographer productivity reports.
        • Add images to folder
          • Here you can enter the name of the folder you’d like to add image to.   If you checked auto rename folders, you will not enter anything here, it will automatically create a folder name
        • Find and Replace image names
          • After you have added images, you may optionally use this tool to remove portions of the image name.   Example: img_0001 can be changed to 0001
    • In your CORE account go into the event by clicking the Events Tab, then the market on the left, then click on the event
      • CORE – Click Upload/Import Images on the left side of the page, then launch CCS Uploader
        • Click Start Uploading to launch CCS Uploader
          • When prompted by your browser to open or save, select OPEN
          • To start importing the images, you can either drag images into CCS Uploader or your can click browse for images to select images to import into CCS Uploader.
            • Note: If you have preloader enabled (Race Market), images will automatically starting validating and uploading the previews and thumbnails.
            • Once all images have been added (and previews and thumbs uploaded, if using preloader), you may view images by selecting a folder, then clicking on the Folder Review Button
            • You may crop your images via the review page by double clicking on an image to open the crop screen
            • You can crop to full frame 8x12 or to 8x10 by clicking the toggle
            • Click apply to remaining, then click the right arrow to view and adjust cropping for each image as needed
            • When finished close the window, click save changes and proceeed
            • When ready to begin the upload, click Next (if using pre-loader, you must waiting until previews and thumbnails have finished before proceeding


      • You will then be on the Folder Review page
        • This page is a recap of what has happen with the images so far, such as rotations and if you’ve reviewed the images


        • The final page allows you select what you want to upload and when you want to upload.   If most cases you are going to select NOW on previews and thumbs and NOW on full-size.
        • You will select if you are upload all images or select images, then click Upload/Continue
          • If you elect to upload Selected images, you will be taken to another page to select which images you want to upload.   After you select them, you will click save and continue
          • Upload will begin
            • You can monitor the progress by clicking on the CCS Upload icon in the bottom right side of your system tray.
            • The left side shows progress of Previews and Thumbnails, the right side shows full size images
      • You may start another job while this job is running

      MAC USERS - Setup

      You may start another job while this job is running
      • Open the program
      • Got to preferences
      • Click on Local Folders
        • Browse for the folder you’d like CCS Uploader to place a copy of your uploaded images
        • If you have a default location that you keep images, you may browse for that location. If you pull images from multiply locations, just leave the browsing location blank
        • Click on Account
        • Default service: If you log into quicpost.candid.com to manage your events select Quicpost, otherwise select CORE
        • Enter the user name you use to log into CORE or Quicpost
        • Enter your password
        • If you log into a unique CORE site, enter your CORE domain
        • Save Credentials
        • Click on Image Upload
          • If your internet connection is DSL, Cable, Satellite and/or wireless select 1 Simultaneous Image uploads.   If you are a much faster connection such as a T1, you may elect to set any number up to 8.
          • Note: setting simultaneous image uploads to a number higher than your upload speed can handle can cause slower upload speeds or even corrupt images

            • Set retry to 30 seconds, up to 900 times
            • Set Connection Timeout to 60 seconds
            • Simultaneous uploads to 9 
            • Click on Advanced
              • Select Always automatically detect camera rotations
              • Check to automatically detect new folders and images
              • You may optionally have text removed and replaced
              • Check hide images online if they are deleted locally


            • Click on Market Settings
              • Check use Pre-Loader on RACE
                • This setting is useful when shooting events like Races where you may have thousands of images to upload because the previews and thumbnails start uploading as you are moving images into the uploader program.   This allows you to start managing the images in CORE/Quicpost as soon as folders finish uploading.   This is especially helpful when IDing a race event.
              • Set Simultaneous Uploads to 1 (unless you have a T1 or faster internet connection)



              UPLOADING IMAGES (MAC)

              • Advanced options allow you to set your preferences on how you want your images handled
                • Auto categorize images by folder name is used in the SPORTS market and when checked, it will automatically create divisions/categories and associate your images into those categories
                  • For CORE users it will automatically ID the images as “action” associated with the division/folder you uploa them to
                  • For Quicpost users it will automatically categorize your images into tabs named the same as your folders
                • Put new images in currently selected folder is checked when you want to add images to an existing folder
                • Auto rename folder numerically will automatically add images to folders beginning with folder 00001
                • Auto rename images numerically will automatically rename images beginning with 0001
                • Create a new folder after ??? images will automatically start a new folder after the set # of images have been added
              • Selections made here will be remembered and remain selected when you open the next upload job
              • Assigning Photographers
                • If you’d like to associate photographers with the images they took so you can run reports, such as, photographer productivity reports or photographer sales reports, you’ll need to click the photographers button and add/select the photographer before you add the images


                • To add images you either drag your images into the window, or browse for images
                  • If you’d like to put images into a folder with a specific name, you can click the new folder button and enter the name of the folder before dragging images into that folder


                  • Once images have been added you may click the view button to review the images. On the image review page you can rotate and/or delete images from the folder
                  • To begin the upload click the next button, you will be taken to the folder review page that recaps the actions that have taken place regarding your images


                  • Start the Upload
                    • Select when you’d like to upload the previews & thumbnails
                      • In most cases you select Now
                    • Select when you’d like to upload the full size images
                      • In most cases you select Now
                    • Select which images you’d like to upload
                      • If this is the first upload you’ll select all images
                    • Click push upload
                    • The final page will give you a status of your upload
                      • When the upload is finished the job will be marked complete
