Face Recognition

Face Recognition to ID Images by Reference or Group by Face

You can use face recognition to group images of like faces or to ID images based on reference images you've already IDd.

There are two options available to you when using Face recognition on your events. You can choose to "group by face" which will go through all of your images and group the same faces together so when your customer goes online and finds one image of themselves, they can automatically see all of the other images you took of them. There is also "Reference Image" which uses an image that you have taken and identified as a person (with one face in the image) and uses that reference image to ID other folders of images to that person. The reference image method is particularly useful in graduations where you have an ID'd portrait image and need to identify party pics, friends and family and PR photos to a graduate.

Group By Face

Within your event in CORE, you can enable the Face Recognition function under Add-On Features. Once enabled, go to the Face Recognition menu item and select Group images by similar faces in the job type drop down. You can select all folders or even just one folder. You can also limit what is matched based on set numbers but that is optional. Leave the boxes at the bottom checked and click Review Settings and Estimate. There is a cost for this feature so we show you the charge before you confirm and run the recognition on your event.

Reference Image

To use a reference image to ID other images, select ID images using pre-ID'd reference images. It is important to be sure that you have identified images in the folder that you use as a reference before you run this function or it will not work. In the first set of folders listed, select the folder that has images of your participants (one face per image). In the second set of folders, select the folders of images that you want to be identified to participants using the facial recognition function. Click Review settings and estimate. Again, you will be shown the charges before you confirm.

Once the facial recognition is run, it will display the results and give you the option to change the confidence threshold and apply the results in your event.
