How can I add Gift Certificates to your Product Offer to sell online?

Allow your customers to create their own gift certificates by ordering them online.

Instead of creating a gift certificate code for your customer, you can offer them online and automate the process. Your customer will go to their event and simply select that product for purchase. You can make the value any amount that you want. 

To do this, go to Offers on the top menu and select the offer that you want to add the gift certificate to by clicking on the hyperlinked name of the offer. 

Once in the offer, click on the Add a new package/product grouping and name it whatever you want. We usually name it Gift Certificate. Click the save settings button to create he new grouping. 

Within your new grouping/header, click the Add a single product button. Note: New groupings will appear at the bottom of the page. 

Type Gift into the product search and it will come up with the product VGIFC - Click that product and select save & next on the pop up that appears. 

You can enter an exact amount that your gift certificate will be worth or you can enter a range which will allow your retail customer to choose their amount online when ordering. Enter the value you want and click Save & Add. 

IMPORTANT: If you are not creating a package with other products in it along with your gift certificate, you want to keep the package price at $0.00. The product will charge the value of the gift certificate to your customers. If you also put the value in as the package price, it will double the cost to your customers. You will also want to be sure that you uncheck the box to charge shipping on this product since it will not be mailed. 

To check the shipping option, click on Edit next to the Gift Certificate product and then click Edit Package Settings. 

Under Advanced Options, Click the Show Options hyperlink

Under tax and shipping, uncheck the box that says include this when calculating shipping and click Save Settings at the bottom of the page. 

To apply this new product to existing events, you can go to the bottom of the offers page and refresh all events using that offer.
