How do I set a discount on shipping?

Shipping discounts can be created in CORE as a discount code that only applies to the amount owed specifically for shipping charges. You can alternatively setup a shipping override to allow for free shipping during a specific date range or number of days offset from event date. So, when should you use a discount vs an override?

Discount: Use when you are going to give out a code to select people. An example would be that everyone who pre-orders gets free shipping, so you could give them a code to enter that allows the shipping to be discounted down to zero. Shipping discounts can be a percentage or dollar amount. You setup this code under Settings>Website>Discounts

Override: Use an override when you want to give everyone that goes to the event free or discounted shipping for certain dates. An example would be that everyone that orders within 48 hours of the job going live, gets 50% off of their shipping charges OR free shipping now through Christmas! Shipping discounts are setup under Settings>Shipping>go to your scale>Go to Add A Shipping Override
