What is a PIN request and how do I fulfill it?
If you have a customer requesting a pin, here is how you find it and why it is required.
Pin Required to View Images
If your event is set to require a PIN to view images online or "locked down" so that the images are not searchable online without security, a customer will only be able to access their images online if they have a PIN number or if they receive a direct link from you via email or SMS. *If they get a direct link, it will bypass the need to enter a PIN number to access their gallery.
If a customer does not have a direct link to their images, they will be required to enter a PIN number. Sometimes this number is provided to participants at an event on a proof sheet or sequence card but sometimes the buyer does not know their PIN number. If that is the case, they are given the option to request their PIN number from you. If they send a request you will receive an email that says CCS Retail Website PIN Request. You need to respond to your customer's request and provide the PIN number if you want them to get access to their images online.
How to Find the PIN
You can find a participant's PIN number from your event by going to the Names & Contact Data menu on the left and looking up that participant's assigned PIN number.
You can alternatively find the PIN number by looking up the participant under the Orders menu in CORE (top menu). If you find their PIN using this method, be sure to send the PIN from the correct event if multiple events are listed.
Once your customer has their PIN number they will be able to enter that along with their last name to gain access to their images online. Gathering as many email addresses and cell phone numbers with opt in on your events that are locked down will cut down or potentially even eliminate these requests.
