SCHOOL - Make-Up and Retake Days

This article will walk you through the best way to manage your event and images for "Make-Up" and "Retake" days.

Use the Original Event

When you have to go back to the school to photograph people who missed the original picture day or to retake portraits for those who didn't like their photos, you will want to use the same event as you did for the original picture day.

There are multiple reason why you should use the same event.   These are the top three.

  1. If you are producing service items, ID cards, yearbook exports, etc., you'll need all images together in the same event.
  2. You already have the name and contact data in the original event.
  3. If you want parents/students to be able to view and order from either the original or the retake images, it's easier when they are in the same event.

At the Event

PhotoMatch Users

If you are using PhotoMatch, you will log into the original event, but you will need to log into a *NEW FOLDER.  You'll pull up the students name and take their photos, just as you did on the original picture day.   You will want to mark one of the new photos as the "default" image.   This will override the originally marked default image in CORE.

* New Folder = a folder that has not been used on the event.  Uploading images into an existing folder may result in overwriting photos.
Paper Users
If using paper forms to ID and sequence your images, you do the same at makeup/retake day.   After photos are taken you will upload your images to the original event, but into a *NEW FOLDER in CORE using the CCS Uploader program.
* New Folder = a folder that has not been used on the event.  Uploading images into an existing folder may result in overwriting photos.
After images are uploaded, you will lock the new folders and align images.
 Manually IDing New Images
Go to ID images and check them out.  ID the new images to names and mark one of the new images as the default image.  This will override the original default image.
Importing IDs via a Spreadsheet
Make sure your spreadsheet includes the FirstName, LastName, NameID, Spots, Is Retake.  It is VERY important that your spreadsheet include the NameID so you don't duplicate names. Then go to the names and contact data page in CORE to import your spreadsheet.  Once your images have been IDd, you can go to the ID images page in CORE to mark your default images.
